Assassins Creed: The Black Flag (Case study)

Ownership & Franchise: The Assassin's Creed franchise was created by Patrice Desilets, Jade Raymond and Corey May and it was developed by the video game company studio, Ubisoft Montreal. The first game that was released came out on November 13th 2007 and the most recently released one came out on November 10th 2020. This obviously shows the success of the game as it has been out for thirteen.  the series originated out of the Prince of Persia franchise series that's made on the PlayStation 2. The narrative was developed where the game player was the one that controlled the Assassin. The maximising income: In the first week of the game being sold, it became a best selling game. The initial sales of the game was dropped by 60% in comparison to the third game which came out in 2012. Dream music video - Dizzee Rascal

The narrative: his rise to success - his personal journey - autobiographical - inspiring the next generation, directly addressing them. upbeat lyrics. The Genre: Pop, grime & hiphop  The Setting: Playful at first, then it shifts onto an old woman's piano and then on the piano it's got a grime type of vibe. Iconography is more realistic (off license, police) but the props make us change how we feel about it - seems unreal. Not too gritty - just a fantasy.  Props: playful toy colours, light pink, baby blue - yellow suggesting it's going to be upbeat and positive.  Lighting: brightly lit - positive vibes  The puppets could represent mockery on grime the puppets and the fact they're small - idealogical implication of the message of the song and video - loving in the old lady's world. Her house. Ethnicity? Dizzee's world is more run by white people and the puppets are controlled by her. white upper class is more dominate and controlling. the puppets are controlle

Riptide music video

Notes😁✍ the narrative gets it meaning almost word for word from the lyrics - structure is fragmented - the lyrics directly address the narrative.  repetition  "running down to the riptide" - literally matches the visual, literal. sometimes not as straight forward - the money isn't literal; symbolic/metaphorical subtle - green with envy money is green "living on the highest shelf" nobody interested in her - unwanted "I just want know" - predict the future using the prediction cards the makeup on the woman changes and every time it comes to "you're gonna sing the words" - makeup smudged - in the second to last frame, you can gather that she's been crying and she's bruised - domestic abuse; scared. everything about her gets worse including the way she's singing the lyrics. in the final frame, she's bleeding and holding her neck- it's violence against woman as the character progressively worsens.  0 Recurring theme - viol
